Adrienne Bitar, PhD

Adrienne Bitar, PhD, is a lecturer in Food Studies at Cornell University and the author of Diet and the Disease of Civilization, widely regarded as the leading cultural history of American diet.  As a cultural historian of diet and health, Bitar has published her food research broadly in both the popular press and academic journals.

Bitar is also the co-founder and co-CEO of Seen Nutrition, a foodtech company committed to bone health nutrition.  After nearly two years of research and development, Bitar and her co-founder, Dr. Jennifer Han, PharmD, patented the first real food dietary calcium chew for better bone health.  Made from only four real foods, Seen’s calcium chew uses the natural mineral complex from milk to increase the absorption of calcium into bone

As both an academic and an entrepreneur, Bitar is committed to bone health education and believes deeply in the food-first approach to nutrition and health.
